page 115

Page 115 ive really been doing a lot of thinking, ive been very worried about myself and afraid of failing because I feel like I cant get past this wall, so I have taken the advice of my readers, I spoke with some people from a first Baptist church today a made a commitment for Sunday morning, ten thirty, I am realizing I did not get this far by waiting for things to happen, and if I don't seek out things to make my life better, it wont be. It seems like my mind was starting to slip back into my old way of thinking and I know where that will get me, ive been there and it wasn't fun before so im sure it wont be now, so I will take the steps to make change in my life and I will follow the advice of all of you people that have kept me going so far, id like to give special thanks to my friend in chatt who seems to be doing very well and took the time to call me and tell me to get to church, thanks to all the comments and please kept them coming, James

  1. I am happy that you have decided to go to Church, there is so much support with a good pastor and good people. Now remember, that sometimes the right church takes a few visits. I am a Lutheran, but most of my Dad's family were Baptists and they were excellent people but some of the others were AOGs (Assembly of God) which is a little too much for me. Find the church that speaks to you. They all preach from the same Bible. Listen to what the sermon says, I think it might speak to you. Listen and pray...........I so wish that Josh was doing as well as you, so proud that you are still seeking and hoping to find the right kind of life for you, free from drugs and I hope every day that you continue on this very hard road you have chosen. Love and Kisses, Aunt P

  2. It's late here, but I just read your Aunt P's advice, and it's very good advice. It may take a few churches to find the right one for you. I was raised Catholic and married a Catholic. But a friend invited me to a Presbyterian church where the preacher was a wonderful teacher of God's word. So I started going there & went there for a long time. I really loved that church. Now I go to Mass with my husband back in the Catholic church, mainly because he needed my support after our son died. You'll find that even within different religions, so much depends on the preacher and the congregation at each individual church. And your aunt is right: there is so much support with a good pastor and good people. She is right on about that. Just don't get discouraged if it takes attending a few different churches to find the one that's right for you. But I'm really glad that you have decided to go to church. Once you find the right one and open your heart to God's word, you are going to find an inner peace and joy that comes from having God in your life. It will fill that empty void in your life. God Bless, Nancy
